When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you receive access to all that He is and has, but you must activate those things in your day to day life.
Here are some practical steps you can take to finding inner joy and peace today with some helpful scriptures to go along with each one:
- Hear and read the word of God (scriptures from the Bible) everyday because His words instruct you on how to have joy.
- Mark 4:20 “Others, like seed sown on good soil, hear the word, accept it, and produce a crop—some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times what was sown.”

- Isaiah 58:13-14 “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on My holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
- Be saved and filled with The Holy Spirit; He gives us joy!
- Luke 10:21 “At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what You were pleased to do.” “

- Speak life, joy, and peace to and into your mind, situation, and life.
- Mark 4:37-41 “And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up. Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush, be still.” And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. And He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They became very much afraid and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?” “

For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.”

When you read these scriptures, you will see that a vast majority of them are actionable and require us to choose to do or not do something. As mentioned before, having inner peace and joy must be cultivated and activated every day! This does not always happen overnight and can easily be lost overnight, but once you realize that it is gone, you now have access to the steps you need to take to get it back. With any habit, it becomes a part of who you are over a certain amount of time of consistently pursuing it. Be watchful to see that it stays a part of your life.
I pray that you will take these actions and words to heart and choose inner joy and peace today! God bless!
